Course Description
Students will learn
decision-making skills in the context of health information and issues. In this activity-based and text-based
course, students will apply reading, writing, and communication skills to
content areas such as first aid, diseases, alcohol and tobacco, emotional and
social health, and setting personal goals.

Student work is to be kept in
a section of each student’s three ring binder. At the end of the semester all work goes home.
Evaluation/Grading
Practices
Grades are based on daily
class assignments, tests, and presentations. Although some work is done in groups, there are no
“group grades.” Work
is graded individually. If a
student is absent, work can be made up per Richland School District
Policy. Missing work will be
counted as a zero.
Grading Scale
A- = 90% B
= 84% C
= 74% D
= 60%
B-
= 80% C-
= 70% F
= below 60%
