Jackson County is a
part of the Upper Cumberland Region. Most of the eastern part of Jackson County lies with
the highland Rim Physiographic province situated at the foot of the Higher Cumberland
Plateau to the east and is part of the greater Applachian Region. The western part of
Jackson County lies within the Nashville basin.
