I always wanted to create my own newspaper. Everybody was laughing at me when I made "newspaper" with two of my friends on normal notebook paper... Than I decided to wait until I really would have money and energy to start real newspaper.
In September 1997, ten of us had little meeting in our organization office. Then we decided to start our newspaper. It was our way to talk to the youth and publish our and their ideas, about the youth in Georgia. This newspaper had to be for everybody and about everything which was affect young people. All of us put the money in this new type of business and it worked out! The birthday of the newspaper is December 1st, 1997. On that day the first issue of "Tetri da Shavi" (White and Black) came out. The name of the newspaper was confusing people first time, but then everybody understood from the newspaper itself why it was called so. In this newspaper we tried to show both sides of the particular issue, the white side and the black side. Actually I think we got very good along with it. The newspaper was coming out every month and we were selling it in the schools of Tbilisi. During the publishing we met and talk to different type of people, heard stories, which we probably never could hear, interviewed people, whom we never could even see in the streets of the city. Along with it, all of us got great experience of the right to write truth and express ourselves to the public. We understood how important is right of free and independent press and right of speech.
