PUMPKINS ARE ORANGE

About The Book...My purpose and intention in writing this novel was to get away from the too readily available violence, rape, murder, espionage, overdone sex, and vulgar language found in much of our movies, TV, magazines, and literature. I told a friend I must have more guts than sense because I couldn't spell, I couldn't punctuate, and I typed with one finger, but I had an idea and a subject, so I went ahead.
This novel is a humorous approach to many funny situations in the growing of Giant Pumpkins. All involved are in pursuit of a large prize for the first pumpkin over 1000 pounds. It deals with many possibilities encountered in the growing and also other funny situations that could easily happen on the way to the prize money. Our main character is one who thinks he knows it all, where as a matter of fact, he knows just enough to be dangerous, or lucky. This creates numerous interesting and laughable situations.
The title comes from the fact that squash and pumpkins are often hard to distinguish from one another. However, pumpkins are the only ones that are always orange.
