The FreeBSD Handbook now has a chapter 15 devoted entirely to Sound. The place to start is going to be the Handbook but you might get by just reading the LINT file. Because of the chapter in the Handbook and the coverage, this file is basically a stub. It is here just to keep all of the file missing messages from appearing in my httpd-error.log. I didn't say anything that is not covered in the Handbook chapter on sound.
