Attempting to find out who Mr. Stewart is the whole reason behind this series of web pages. If the third son rule applies, Mr. Stewart is also an Archibald. I have encountered an Archibald Stewart, born about 1780, with a wife of Mary. If my great grandfather hadn't gone tombstone hunting around Glasgow in 1890, I would suspect that this Archibald is a likely candidate. If there is a connection, it is undocumented and has to be put on the "wish-list". The fact that our people appeared to stick together and moved back to Glasgow makes me believe that this is most likely a different family. Anyone who has tried to look up the name Archibald or Mary Stewart understands the popularity of these names. I need someone who has a sibling Archibald Stewart that was born in Ballymena in 1802.
If you are a cousin, send me e-mail and say "Hi!". Send your name and who you descend from to kbstew99@hotmail.com. I have e-mail addresses for other descendants and if you want to be introduced to other cousins, I will forward your note of introduction to everyone on my list. The total number of descendants are in the 1000's and that would make you part of a unique group. If you have a photograph of one of Archibald's children, I would like a copy. I would create a simple web page like I have done for William Lyle Stewart. If you have a web page of your own, send the link and I will add you to my set of links. I have had three cousins pop up and say hi in a weeks time and I can not imagine that I am the only one with a web page for our Archibald Stewart. Only one of the people was a cousin from Archibald's descendant's.
A short personal history of Archibald has been included in the Sons of Utah Pioneers 1997 Sesquicentennial Project. The write up is by Dorothy Geddes Nelson, editor of the Geddes Gazette.
