I saw the movie "Gods and Generals" with a special price. I watched the movie "Gettysburg" a long time ago. Both movies are based on books by the Sharaa's. Gettysburg was based on the book "The Killer Angels" by Michael Sharaa. It won a Pulitzer Prize. If you are into gaming, you never want to play the part of the North against a South played by your computer. The computer does not hesitate like Lee's armies did and you will be wiped out very quickly. Buford held Gettysburg because Lee didn't know how many soldiers he was facing. Stuart's Cavalry was supposed to keep Lee suplied with intelligence and he was not doing what he was supposed to be doing. The hesitation until the North had sufficient troops on hand was one of the central flaws leading to their defeat.
Gettysburg is a bloody military history movie. It is also very long. Gettysburg was based on the book "The Killer Angels" by Michael Sharaa. It won a Pulitzer Prize. If you are into gaming, you never want to play the part of the North against a South played by your computer. The games do not make the stupid mistakes that Lee and his generals did. If Lee had been provided with the intel that Stuart's calvary was supposed to provide, I think the battle would have ended differently.
