This was one of my earliest encounters with a movie with the soundtrack in Portuguese. It has English subtitles and if you are familiar with Spanish, the movie can confuse you. Portuguese seems to share about 50% of the words with Spanish. You are confused because you are wondering where all of the new words came from. It is terribly depressing because of the feud. Brother after brother are killed on both sides of the feud.
The "City of God" is claimed to be one of the best films you will ever see. I didn't finish it. It is some where in the middle of my to watch list. It about Rio de Janerio's "City of God" area. It is basically a combat zone because of the crime and violence.
