Myriam Hernandez
1 September 2007 - I walked into WalMart and found 4 new albums. The surprise was finding Enamorandome by Hernández. She has dropped off of the música latina radar in the USA for some time now. Her biography on AMG hasn't been update since 2000. I do not understand why but the marketeers are notoriously fickle. Perhaps finding Enamorandome in Wal Mart is a good sign.
One of her albums has always been on my mega-playlists since I purchased "Y Más". The best write up, biography or what ever that I have encountered so far is on Amazon's Myriam Hernández - Enamorandome web site. It is huge. For what ever it is worth, I still consider "Y Más" to be the album I enjoyed the most.
She is also one of these artists with marketing people that I don't understand. Her website, www.myriamhernandez.cl, is promising a "pronto nuevo web site 2007". I shake my head because I think "what part of marketing don't they understand". The web site should be in place weeks or months before the new album is released.
20 Apr 2004 - Myriam has a new album out it is call Huellas. Huellas was written for Hernandez by Soraya. There are a number of greatest hit songs on the album.
The same list on Amazon that introduced me to the music of Soraya also introduced me to Myriam Hernandez. She is a very beautiful Latina that also sounds awfully good. There are a couple of sites dedecated to her. The best fan site that I have found so far was created by Brent Bowman on his Vistacraft web site. He talked about Hernandez wanting her fans to be called amigos or friends. The rationale is that friends are forever and fans only last until you aren't popular. I found this to be a particularly intriguing outlook. There are a number of web sites dedicated to Hernandez that are listed on his Amigos web page. Bowman has a list of amigos by country. When they have a web page, he also lists that. When I first visited Bowman's site, his HTML contained an error. I sent him an email and minutes later the error was fixed. I was impressed because here was someone that cared about his web page. Unfortunately, Vistacraft is still a domain name but no web server is active.
Hernández's web site is locate at www.myriamhernandez.cl (At the moment, this site only has an image with a song playing in the background). It has a lot of graphics and is pretty slow downloading even on a DSL line like I have. Once you have everything downloaded, it is interesting to browse around.
