NEW! She's here!
Kendra May Frank and family are doing very well. Well, I'll get to the point, you probably want to see the pictures. I don't blame you!

Anthony is adjusting well too, just takes time. There is still an old set of Anthony's On-Line Pictures and included a picture of my mom and dad's 40th anniversary.

SCAM WARNING!

The following information was recently reported by one of the big-three networks (I can't recall which one). You may have seen, on your internet surfings, that some "services" or "companies" offer "Free Access to our (whatever web site) by using our free access software" which you can download to your computer. BEWARE! What some of these "free" software programs do is the following:
  • First, the software turns off the sound from your Modem so there is no evidence of what the software does next.
  • The software then disconnects you from whatever service provider you are interacting with (that is it hangs up the phone).
  • The software then silently dials an International Long Distance call to who knows where, typically Moldovia or some other country not in North America.
  • Even when you are done using their "free" service, the phone line stays connected until you turn off your computer or in some other way hang up the connection.
The net result of this is humongous phone bills to some foreign long-distance phone company, often on the order of hundreds of dollars per hour.

The Groove Machine Home Page has been put on line. Dan Welch is a musician friend of mine who has released a CD of guitar music (all original) and has played in a couple of bands here locally (Tri-Cities, WA). Check out short .WAV files from his CD here on-line!
The Outback Steakhouse opened in Kennewick. They have excellent food and very large portions. They are only open for dinner, and they are usually very crowded, so best to get there early (before 5:00). I heartily endorse the restaurant.
Resume Duane's Résumé
My resume is currently on-line, but is probably a year out of date. Since joining British Nuclear Fuel Laboratory (BNFL), I haven't had a need to keep my Resume updated like I did while I was at (F)LMSI.

Information about LazrChet

(Or everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask)

Personal Information: First off, I hate it when people hide behind nick names. My real name is Duane D. Frank, and I live in Richland, WA. I am working for Bechtel Hanford Inc. as a software developer, primarily for databases. I am married and my wife's name is Ronda. (Picture of Duane and Ronda, 37K) We have been married seven and a half years, and have one child and one dog, Shelby (Picture of Shelby as a puppy, 54K).

Hobbies and Interests: Obviously, I spend more time than I should on the computer. I also enjoy volleyball, billiards, foosball, and racquetball, and golf to some extent (even Links386 Pro golf). More recently I have been playing Tribes-2, while in the past I played a lot of Quake II. I know it's a registered trade name of ID Software, however, I can't recall off hand what their URL is. For those of you who want to use the mouse left-handed for quake, I have my Quake2 configuration files on-line. I also enjoy travelling and a wide variety of foods. When I am on IRC, I can usually be found in the #Evergreen channel, and can also be found on the #Northwest-Friends channel on NewNet. I also like Dilbert.

Of particular note, I have experience putting together a wide variety of web pages and WIN-CGI applications for the web. I volunteer my time to local councils and societies to help them develop their web pages. Once initial development of the pages is complete, I will turn over maintenance of the pages to some member(s) of the group, with some training if needed. I will also help individuals and companies put together their own web pages for reasonable rates. Unfortunately, I don't have a color scanner yet. One example of the web pages I have developed is the web pages for the Tri-Cities Genealogy Society (TCGS), the Tri-Cities Technical Council (TTC), and the Environmental Information Network of Southeast Washington (EIN). Feel free to check these pages out as well.

Other Information Sources

I have also put together, and made available on-line, a set of notes about developing web pages. Most of the notes are general observations, differences between the original big three web browsers, and standards which I try to follow although not religiously. Some of the version specific information is out of date, but there may still be some useful tidbits in there.

Friends of Duane's

The following are friends of mine who also have web pages available. If you would like to be added to the list, please let me know.

Point of Contact, Send Comments and Updates to: Duane D. Frank (LazrChet)

Internet access provided by One World Telecommunications of Kennewick. For the area, they provide the best service and are the most technically knowledgeable ISP I have encountered in the Tri-Cities area.
