Press Release: Record crowds turned out for the 3rd Annual Mt.Rainier Blues, Jazz, Wine and Brews Festival last Saturday, September 26th. Attendees came from all over Washington state as well as Colorado,Montana, Idaho, Oregon, California and British Columbia. More than 500 LBS. of food was donated from the Festival to the Lewis County Food Bank. With more than 50% of the crowd being "first timers", festival organizers, Gary Johnson and Randy Oxford are very optimistic about the future of such events being held at the Mineral Lake Event Center. "We have turned the corner" Johnson said and "we can only go up from here". "The music was non stop for 12 hours on 2 stages and the comments from the music fans were nothing but positive", Oxford said. Johnson and Oxford both agree that "The Mineral Lake Event Center in Mineral, WA. is now "officially" on the map as a favorite place to see multiple festivals and events throughout the year". The on-site camp ground was full of tents and RV's and most motels and hotels in the surrounding communities in Pierce and Lewis counties were sold out. Area restaurants and stores reported a significant increase in business during the entire weekend as festival attendees took in what the area had to offer on their way to and from the event. "This has been our goal all along, to bring more and more people out our way and to have them spend time and money, not only at the Mineral Lake Event Center, but in the surrounding communities as well, Oxford Said. "It's a win win situation and we are planning many more events in the future". October 17th will bring back by popular demand, the #1 Johnny Cash impersonator on the scene today and he is bringing a fabulous June Carter impersonator with him. The dates have been set for the 4th annual Music on the Mountain Festival on Friday April 30th and Saturday May 1st 2010. Also the 4th Annual Mt.Rainier, Blues Jazz, Wine and Brews Festival will take place on September 25th 2010.
