130 Bands were there from 5 different countries playing in 16 different venues. They called it the largest gathering of Blues bands in the history of the world. Over 100 judges and hundreds of volunteers from all over the country were needed to pull the event off. The South Sound Blues Association pulled together dozens of friends and fans to join us. The South Sound Blues scene was very well represented and we really appreciate that and thank them for all of their support.

Although the Randy Oxford Band did not make the final cut we were pleased to receive multiple Festival offers from around the country as well as offers for national air play and distribution and much more (TBA). It was an amazing weekend of networking and making contacts. We were really pushing the whole Northwest Blues scene down there. I highly recommend this event to any band that wants to further their career in the Blues. The International Blues challenge is about so much more than going down there and winning first place. It is a great opportunity if you take advantage of what is available to you during this event.

We strongly encourage all Blues Societies to take part in this major event and send a band each year. It is good for the Blues Society that sends you as well as for the Blues scene in your area. The west coast and the Pacific NW were well represented with bands from California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho."
