Jho Blenis

Jho is a veteran Pacific Northwest musician, nationally and regionally known for his guitar wizardry, song-writing skills and showmanship. He won the prestigious Bluesman of the Year in 1996, and has jammed alongside too many legends to list. He currently writes the menu that is served up by Bump Kitchen, Tacoma's premier funk band; is one of the three captivating forces in Hat Trick, a jazz/funk combo new on the Tacoma scene; and fills in for The New Blues Brothers as well as a host of other bands around the Northwest. He has played with and opened for luminaries Floyd Dixon, Robert Cray, Jr. Wells and local favorites Jumbo Groove and Big Nasty. Jho has earned Best Guitar and Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Seattle and Tacoma Blues Societies for playing, teaching and singing the blues! His resume also includes having played in the late 1800s with Foghorn Leghorn (one of the first blues bands in the Seattle-Tacoma area), Blueport News, Muf, Happy Daze, and probably more that even he can't remember.
