2005Randy wrote this acceptance speech for the honor:It is very hard to give an award like "keeping the blues alive" to just one person. There are so many of us at so many levels doing our part in keeping the blues alive.
Blues DJ's, Blues fans, Blues writers, Blues club owners,photographers,magazine publishers, news paper writers, Jam hosts, Festival promoters, Booking agents, Blues in the schools programs,workshops,music teachers, and musicians in bands that take the time on their nights off to go see others perform.
These are just some of many helping to keep the blues alive.
I am honored to be recognized for my roll in all of this great Blues music that we have to share here in the NW.
