In the name of God amen. I do hereby constitute this my last will and testament in the
following words and figures towit:
I desire my debts to be paid out of the Sale of such property as my executor thinks can be
best Spared. It is my desire that by wife Lucy Whitaker remain in possession of the
plantation on which we now live her life time free of any encumbrance. I give to each of
my daughters Polly Cardin, Nancy, & Ann Whitaker 1 Cow and Calf, 1 Bedstead Bed &
furniture when Called for. I give to my two sons Burton & John each 1 Horse Saddle
& Bridle the value of which Shall be fifty or sixty dollars. I have already given to
Thomas, Isaac, William & David Whitaker 1 Horse Saddle & Bridle which I now
mention to prevent any charge being made against Them. It is my desire that my son John
shall receive one years schooling. It is my desire that my wife Lucy Whitaker have all my
stock, grain farming utensals, House hold and Kitchen furniture her life time and at her
death the Plantation together (p 271) with farming utensals, Stock, Grain, House hold
& Kitchen furniture shall be sold and the money ensuing therefrom divided equally
between my sons Thomas, Isaac, William, David, Burton & John Whitaker.
I appoint my son William Whitaker my executor to this my last will.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 5th day of February AD
