I am afflicted with Dupuytren's Contracture, a progressive condition that deforms the hands.
My doctor advised surgery in the future and "observation" for the time being.
I was not thrilled at the prospect. |
Instead of surgery, I elected to have Needle Aponeurotomy, a non surgical outpatient procedure, performed in Paris, France in June 2005. The image at the left shows one hand after the procedure and the other awaiting treatment. The purpose of this web page is to explain the non surgical approach and document the condition of my hands. It is my intention to update the images on an annual basis as I expect the contracture to gradually return. (That means I will have to go to Paris again!) |
